Iftin means ‘light’ in Somali. The Iftin Women’s Empowerment Group consists of impoverished women who participate in self-help groups in Eastleigh, an area of Nairobi, Kenya. Together, they support one another spiritually, socially, emotionally and economically. The women also work hand-in-hand to make these unique scarves for a brighter future for themselves and their children.
